Explanatory notes are provided with the Statutory Instrument.
Employers and self-employed persons are required to make assessments of the
health and safety risks to which their respective undertakings give rise,
for the purpose of ascertaining what they have to do to comply with their
obligations under health and safety legislation. Provision is also made for
the review and recording of the results of risk assessments.
Adequate numbers of competent persons are required to assist in meeting obligations under health and safety legislation.
Provision of specified health and safety information to their own employees and to the employers of any employees from outside undertakings who are working in their undertakings.
Provision of specified health and safety training to employees.
Employees are required to use equipment and safety devices in accordance with any relevant training and instructions and report dangerous work situations.
